The cotidianity project

Storytelling has been common since the existence of mankind. It has always been connected to technological development. Firstly, it was spoken words, later on words got printed. Pictures were drawn and photographed. Then the motion pictures came into being and later on, sound was added to them. Nowadays, the latest trend is the discovery of interactive media.

Cotidianity is a new form of storytelling which explores the possibilities of audiovisual interactivity. It is a work-in-progress project, like the real life.

We present stop-motion animations, different soundscapes and short pieces of text based on everyday life. All of these have been reconstructed and placed in new contexts to create a game of realities. One can play, laugh, dance, enjoy, construct and deconstruct the different realities we share.

  cotidianity 2.0

in 2005 we developed a version for live performances. we created an interactive tool that allows one or more performers to explore audiovisual improvisations and through them constructing a piece. Our first experience with this tool was a Computerette (computer operetta) in 9 acts.

next steps

Right now we are expanding the possibilities of cotidianity 2.0. We want to maximize the freedom of expression during the audiovisual performance. In order to achieve that, we are developing a new user interface, a more dynamic multimedia database and implementing more interactive possibilities.
